Canterbury Outboard Boating Club

The Canterbury Outboard Boating Club (COBC) is a Christchurch-based club promoting and organising boating events for about eighty families, with an emphasis on safe family boating. Water sports, fishing and water skiing all sit within the one club, with events every month from Lyttelton, Akaroa, Lake Hood, Twizel, Lake Benmore, Lake Brunner, Kaikōura, Moeraki, Picton and the Marlborough Sounds, plus overnight weekend trips — the highlight being the annual Brunner Weekend in February, which attracts around thirty boats and their families.

Members get free use of club gear and water toys, off-water social events and a low annual subscription. If you have a boat and want to use it more, or are newer to boating and want to venture out in a group, come and talk to them.
