Jackson Bay Charters is a family-run charter operation skippered by owner-operators Murray and Rachel Petrie out of Jackson Bay, South Westland — one of the wildest, most remote stretches of coastline in New Zealand. The motto says it all: fish, dive, hunt, explore. Trips span inshore and deep-sea fishing, dive charters and summer and winter game fishing, with the boat running out of Greymouth for the bluefin tuna season.
All fishing gear is provided — inshore, deep-drop and game — and the catch is prepared for the trip home. Their vessel Ōkahu is fully Maritime NZ surveyed, with modern safety systems including Starlink connectivity and an EPIRB, and every trip is matched to the group on board, from families through to serious anglers chasing the season.
Camping, campervans, boats, outdoor gear, adventure, lifestyle — see the full line-up confirmed for 2–4 October 2026.
