About Remarkable Cream

Remarkable Cream's authentic cream liqueur recipe has been developed by three generations of Kiwis. We proudly use New Zealand Whey Vodka as the base spirit. Here is why. New Zealand whey vodka is a type of vodka that is made from whey, which is a byproduct of milk, cheese, and protein powder production. Whey is the liquid remaining after milk has been turned to curd and strained. It contains proteins, minerals, and importantly - lactose.

In the production of New Zealand whey vodka, the whey undergoes an innovative concentration process before beginning its fermentation process, where yeast is added to convert the sugars present in the whey into alcohol. After fermentation, the liquid is distilled multiple times to achieve a high level of purity and remove impurities. The use of whey as a base for vodka imparts unique characteristics to the final product. Whey vodka is often described as having a smooth and creamy texture with subtle hints of sweetness.

Those characteristics of whey vodka compliment well with what we want to achieve in our cream liqueur: smooth and creamy with a clean palate. New Zealand is known for its dairy industry, and the use of whey in vodka production showcases the country's commitment to sustainable practices by utilizing byproducts that would otherwise go to waste. Whey vodka has gained popularity for its innovative approach and its ability to offer a distinct flavor experience compared to traditional grain-based vodkas.
