Scapegrace

Scapegrace is the New Zealand distiller behind a range of gin, single malt whisky, vodka and ready-to-drink cans. The company trades as Scapegrace Distilling Co. and its distillery sits in Central Otago between Mt Pisa and Lake Dunstan, on the 45th parallel — a site designed by Cheshire Architects as two long-house buildings set into the Bendigo ranges, and which the company describes as New Zealand's largest distillery.

The gin line-up spans Scapegrace Classic, Black and Blood Moon, the navy-strength Gold, and a set of gin-and-soda and gin-and-tonic RTDs; the company also makes the Rogue Society and Thunderdonk labels. Sustainability runs through its strategy, covering biodiversity, carbon footprint and community projects. The distillery is not yet open to the public, so the stand is a rare chance to meet the makers.
